BIOGRAPHY:
Having joined SKK Design in 2023, Ian is a dedicated and innovative Part 2 Architectural Assistant with a
strong background in architectural design and sustainable building practices. He graduated with a Master of Architecture (MArch) from London South Bank University, where he honed his skills in both conceptual and technical aspects of Architecture.
With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating functional yet aesthetically pleasing designs, Ian has
contributed to a diverse range of projects such as student accommodations, retail warehouses, office
buildings, etc. His proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and SketchUp,
combined with his knowledge of building codes and regulations, allows him to efficiently work with the team to deliver high-quality designs.
Outside of his professional life, Ian enjoys attending industry seminars to stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Architecture. He is also an avid traveller, finding inspiration in the diverse architectural styles and cultures around the world.
In addition to his architectural pursuits, Ian has a deep passion for culinary arts. He enjoys experimenting with traditional Mauritian recipes, blending local ingredients with contemporary cooking techniques.
JOB ROLE:
As a Part 2 architectural assistant, Ian works mainly on RIBA Stages 0-4, which involves a range of
responsibilities from project inception to the development of the design. Some of the main responsibilities involve:
• Feasibility studies
• Concept development
• Digital modelling
• Detailed design development
• Coordination with Consultants
